youll also be able to use the dead to help you progress. some will fight by your side, while others will turn against you if you dont treat them right. theres also a surprisingly deep crafting system. youll be able to re-animate the corpses of enemies and make them into different types of minions, and you can even use the corpses of your foes as a resource to build and upgrade weapons and armor. theres enough of both in undead horde to make it a very enjoyable experience.

undead horde tasks players with controlling a horde of undead minions. beginning with a level 1 party of 3, players progress through a series of procedurally generated levels to the next. although there are a multitude of randomly generated minions, the core gameplay is largely a focused on the necromancer. the necromancer is tasked with controlling the undead horde and choosing their purpose. this starts with 1 unit, but you can add more to your party, and ultimately level up your necromancer to increase your control.

the necromancer has a handful of abilities at his disposal that both control and heal the horde. more specifically, you can use them to move, attack, and heal. these skills are locked at level 1, and you unlock them as you level up. but when youre at level 10, youre able to unlock 3 new skills. however, theres a catch. when your horde has been reduced to 1 unit, youre forced to use the necromancer from scratch, which is never fun.

the start of every level is with a simple objective: kill a necromancer. once youre done doing that, youre free to move on to the next level. theres only a handful of levels that necessitate a monster, but theyre used in clever ways. the first level is a standard boss fight with an undead master. youll be tasked with clearing out his minions and taking control of the area. once its cleared out, youll be sent on to the next boss, where youre likely to face something a bit more challenging.
