Shikwa Jawab E Shikwa With Urdu Tashreeh Pdf Download

Shikwa is an Urdu word which translates to complaint in English. It is a three line poem which Iqbal wrote when he was annoyed with a certain point or event. The moral of the poem talks about the injustice done to the Muslims by other religions and how the Islamic teachings help them to survive and prosper.

My personal favourite as an Editor is the one where the Author is seen expressing his annoyance to Allah for not being to the Muslims and not defending them well in the past. Jawab-e-Shikwa was the reply to Shikwa by Allah. The poem consists of three parts which are meant to be read all together. One of the pieces was first published in 1909 and the other two parts a few months later in the same year.

In shikwa, Iqbal is very frustrated as he feels the Muslims are currently losing the battles, (and simultaneously, in the same book, he also says the Muslims are the best in other spheres), in the world, as he observes that in the present time, the Europeans, as well as the Americans, were strong whereas the Muslims were weak. He refers to himself and the Muslims as “the lions of war” in the world, yet they were “pining for the forest” in these days. It seems as if Iqbal could not understand what was going on in the world.
