the el-68 is an emulation of the binson echorec 2000 unit, the most popular and sought after digital delay ever produced and probably the delay of choice for any classic delay user. unfortunately, this major announcement saw the demise of the binson brand and perhaps its best product, leaving many users without the ability to use that classic delay in their mixes. i can confidently say that the echorec 2000 is going to be reborn as the pulsar audio echorec. the digital delay features a legendary four second delay and the ability to sync to the first beat of any song or groove in the current track. there are four delay modes including one that utilizes dual digital delays in stereo with a configurable angle between them, and a fifth “dry” mode that mimics the binson echorec 2000’s unparalleled “no-delay” mode.

the binson echorec 2000 is an analog device that once sold for more than $1000 a piece. it generates unique sounds with intense saturation and massive resonance and is known for its sonic malleability and versatility. the pulsar audio echorec is an emulation of the legendary echo delay made by the italian brand binson and is a must-have tool for any mixer looking to add a thin analog resource that digital latency plugins are sorely lacking. while the echorec can be used as a delay, in addition to being a great clock/sync/delay, the digital delay features a legendary four second delay and the ability to sync to the first beat of any song or groove in the current track.

The Bossa Nova Delay takes on Echoplex and offers the same kind of manual delays as the latter. There are five modes (single, ping pong, sine, harmonic, random) and the delay time can be edited. You can switch between the raw analog signal, the digital and the MIDI input. A very useful feature is the automatic MIDI mapping. This can store multiple presets.
Finally, a delay that is more traditional in nature. The Time Delay comes with, as one would expect, a digital delay, and a stereo width, an input EQ and a resonant filter. With this compressor, the artist can compensate for the expensive of analog tubes and make their mix more balanced. The compression ratio can be adjusted in the advanced settings. For modulation, theres an envelope follower and a LFO. Theres also an input EQ, which is helpful, especially in the mastering process.
Wonky Factory 2 as the name implies, is a digital reverb. In addition to the input type (hollow, plate, hall and spring), you can adjust the wet/dry balance. There are also controls for the room size and decay, which can be set up separately for each input. An input EQ and LFO are integrated into the plug-in.
