The fact that the “hookup” (or one-night stand, if you want to be technical) was invented is a great sign of sexual openness in the world. If you haven’t had a one-night stand in the last two years, you’re doing something wrong. No one is buying the idea that sex is something only teenagers and married people have, or that premarital sex is wrong. Getting laid is a fact of life.
When you’re looking for a casual hookup, you’re looking for someone who offers the best of both worlds. They’ll be familiar with the world, so you’ll know where they’ve been and what they like. And they’ll be happy to show you, because they want to have a great time — and you won’t be a safety risk. If a one-night stand is your goal, ask them about it, and listen to what they say. If you like what you hear, go for it. If not, wait to see if they want to hook up again — you may never know if you missed your moment.
So when you make a decision to have sex, don’t let yourself be intimidated or confused. There are probably people out there who are sexier, funnier, and better in bed than you are — meet them.
