Photoshop has a separate 3D workspace. Once you create an image in the regular workspace, you can click the 3D button in the tool bar, which looks like a 3-D camera view, to enter the 3D workspace, shown in Figure 2-2.

Despite the tool’s name, the 3D workspace is a dedicated workspace, which means you can use it to manipulate 3D-based artwork, as well as 2D files. Use the 3D workspace in conjunction with the regular workspace for modeling 3D content in a 2D application.

Use the 3D perspective camera to view your entire drawing from a bird’s-eye view.

Using Photoshop’s Camera View

The 3D workspace provides a view for navigating your artwork in a 3D space. Figure 2-3 shows the view from an overhead viewpoint.

You can navigate the drawing either using the 3D Orbit controls or by using the 2D camera view. The 3D view is a non-interactive view and is best suited for checking small adjustments. The 2D camera view enables you to edit objects.

Both methods work in unison. For example, if you wanted to resize or rotate an object in the 3D view, you’d move your mouse pointer to the edge of the view. In the 2D view, you’d perform the same operation and then double-click to bring a selection tool into the view.

Figure 2-4 illustrates the process of using 2D and 3D views in Photoshop.

Suspect apprehended after girlfriend shot

A Beaumont Police Department arrest report states a Beaumont police officer was called to the 100 block of 18th Street to report a shooting at the time of 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.

When the officer arrived, he found an 18-year-old Beaumont woman with a single gunshot wound to her abdomen.

The woman, who was transported to a local hospital where she underwent surgery to remove the bullet, told the officer that she and her boyfriend, whose name was not available in the report, had argued over him videotaping and stalking her, then she pushed him and he shot her.

The report states he then loaded the woman’s vehicle and drove away.

A day after Trevor Noah was declared the new host of “The Daily Show,” complete with the blessing of the exiting Jon Stewart, graphic tweets targeting women, Jews and victims of the Ebola outbreak were posted from the account.The Wall Street Journal editorial page, which has been for a long time the most sacred institution of conservative commentary, is under attack from all quarters, including a challenge by Donald Trump himself. After Trump blasted the Journal editorial page earlier this year for its anti-Trump opinion, he retorted that the newspaper should “remove [their] poll and election analyst or the WSJ can shut down.”

It’s a false dichotomy. But hey, neither the poll nor the election analyst is responsible for Trump — he is.

It’s true that some analysts have projected a Clinton win in November, but that doesn’t mean the Journal’s poll analyst — Trump nemesis Frank Luntz — is to blame for Trump’s misfortune.

Trump’s “poll” isn’t just any poll. It’s always among Republicans — none of which exist any more as such. A registered Republican would be dead on arrival in a Democratic primary (except for Bernie Sanders, who doesn’t really count as a Republican) and the Journal’s survey of the likely GOP nominee would be paltry indeed.

If you have a child, your first reaction might be to wonder if they are safe. The Newtown, Connecticut-based Newtown Bee reported that students there went home early Friday, but the police warned residents to “expect heavy traffic and road closures.” The Bee quoted them as saying, “Wherever the shooters go, wherever the shooters go, there will be law enforcement in pursuit.”

American gun violence is notoriously difficult to track. From 1993 to 2011, according to the FBI’s Crime Statistics, there were nearly 8,200 murders reported in schools and in public areas, and the number of victims are usually never reported. And in 2011, according to the Centers for Disease Control, about 8,000 children and adolescents were shot each year.

Given the reluctance of police and government to track gun violence, it’s difficult to know exactly how many people have been shot or killed over the years. A perfect case in point: in 2009, the BBC reported that there were 317 shootings in New York City alone, even though the NYPD did not provide statistics for individual incidents. And in 2011, The Trace reported that the number of children killed by gun violence was estimated to be roughly 4,000, based on a one-year snapshot that included accidental shootings, suicide, and law enforcement-related deaths.
