His last movie was “Phir Ke Shaakh” with ace comic actor Karan Nagra which was directed by Rajiv Menon who has made Amitabh Bachchan’s movies but the movie flopped. “Dharam Sankat Mein” also with Taslima in the lead role, directed by Vijay was another movie which flopped. But his last movie with Mammootty was “Pompadum”. But movie didn’t flopped. It’s directed by Suresh Krissna.

He is also involved in managerial and political activities. In Tamil in 2000, Haasan made the first installments of the Hindi film Ram Leela and the Tamil remake of the Bollywood blockbuster Bhagamath. This film won the National Film Awards for Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Film of Tamil Nadu. The following year, Haasan starred opposite his brother for five roles (including the title character) in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran and also appeared in Hindi as a concerned father in the Tamil-Hindi bilingual drama Aa Din Aa Men (2001).[citation needed]
