Installation instructions for Frostbite game on Mac

If you are having trouble installing a game or patch you should read the main installation instructions for your platform as listed on the game’s Steam pages. However, following additional steps will sometimes be helpful:

To install mods on macOS:

Double-click the downloaded mod package to open the archive.

Go to your Applications folder and look for this game in your Applications folder.

Click on the exe file and drag it to your desktop.

You can now double-click on the folder name to open the mod.

Sometimes it is very important to fully remove previous mods before installing new ones, as major conflicts have been known to arise. If you’re unsure about previous mod installations it is recommended that you uninstall them before installing new mods. To uninstall a mod from macOS:

Go to the Applications folder and look for this game in your Applications folder.

A pretty straight-forward application which can be found on itch.io, FrostyFix can be downloaded for free (there are no ads or popups). The download is just 19.3 MB and is open-source.
It’s important to note that FrostyFix requires the Snowflake File Encryption tool to be installed beforehand. You can download the tool by clicking here.
Tutorial
First, you will have to install Snowflake. Once installed, open it on your system, and you can start encrypting the files. Select a folder and enter your password, then download the file.
Next, you will have to create a zip file using the program, and click yes on any message that pops up. You can then drag the zip file into the Snowflake directory. You will be prompted to enter a file extension for your new file, which you will leave on the default value for it.
Now, you will have to open the console on your system, and type the following commands:
clear cache
pause
restart
As you may know, this pauses the game and clears its cache, then restarts it. After that, go back to your game, which now has the correct spawn command line.
Once done, select the game in your launcher. You can then select the platform you own it and then the mod profile you wish to launch the game with. If you want to disable mods for the game, you may simply select the Disable Mods option.
