The first step to achieving this was to first fill the interior shell with water so that it would be an obstacle. As it turns out you can stick buildings together pretty well. It’s not completely impossible but it’s very hard to get things to fit.

Next up was to apply some of the interior walls. I stuck the first layer upside down and then carefully glued down the rest of the walls after removing the top layers.

The roof looked pretty uninteresting so I decided to cover it. I decided to go for a much smaller detail on the roof but as you can see the ceiling is still quite detailed. As for the roof I used the largest stair slabs I could find and glued them down. Again the stonework didn’t quite line up but it was a good enough glue job that I didn’t care.

I also wasn’t that happy with the size of some of the details so I decided to work on that in the next stage. Still using the larger stair slabs I started working on the smaller details. I used the front stairs as an example. This is a fairly small detail and I figured out pretty quickly that you have to use a lot of glue when working with the stair detailing. One very important thing to note is that if you use a stick brush on the detailing process you will end up with the stick going right up the corners of the building and that not only looks bad but you also can’t get it off. If you use a bulb brush it will go into the corner but can then be easily removed.

The last stage was to put all of the roof detailing down and fill in all of the gaps. All in all I hope I did a decent job on this build. I probably could have done a few things a little differently but I was trying not to get too over-ambitious with it. I also wanted to explore what I could do on this build. I think I’ve got a lot more things I want to try and accomplish in the future. I’ll have to write a small blog post about my plans for that.

All in all I enjoyed the build a lot. I think I have a lot more to learn about Lego and that it took me about 3 days to get here, and the build wasn’t particularly complex. From there I need to learn a few more things to move on to the next build.
