The third Elder Tale, “The Tarnished Prince,” is set in a land known as the Lands Between. The Tarnished Prince was composed of a boy named Tarnished who seeks to rescue the princess of the neighboring city of Rulinde. Using the power of the Elden Ring, which grants the ability to wield magic, Tarnished subdues the creatures of the land and battles against monsters to rescue the princess.

“The Tarnished Prince” is slated for release in June of 2018.

Tarnished

I was one of the lucky ones who had access to the new content and enjoyed it immensely. I thought this was the end of the modding scene for a couple reasons, and I was even more excited than usual when I saw this was still up and running. It is the best non-portable TBH with the medieval setting, and it has implemented so many great ideas that it was obvious that it was destined for greatness. All the things you’d expect from an updated TBH that can run on the client and respect the subreddit guidelines, but also some fairly new ideas.

The most exciting things are probably the additions to the base, but I’ll briefly touch on those, as well as the mods you get. First of all, there is no longer a hard limit to the number of characters you can save for a town (and the original limit was ludicrous anyway). You also no longer lose the last character if one of the run-outs is destroyed. It’s also fully optional to let visitors through your gates with non-player characters, and that no longer causes them to become prisoner servants. Additionally, the names of visitors are stored in the database, and a mod that interprets them as descriptors shows up in the comm menu. Finally, towns are no longer intended to be cramped, and a number of other mechanics have been revised to be more friendly and appropriate for a town.

While most of the actual design of the towns themselves is by a different team that the original one, a number of things were done very well. For one, the vanilla town is a boring

Archers are the ranged knights who use the longbow to shoot accurately and hit their target. Their specialty is their long-range attacks with their longbow.
