## Starting Photoshop

Thracian Games

The Thracian Games (), were religious games that were held in ancient Thrace, Greece, in honour of Athena.

History
The city of Sarmizegetusa, near the Sava river in central Thrace, was called Thessalonica until the 16th century. The Thracian Games were celebrated there in the 4th century BC by the Attalids, a dynasty of Greek imperial family that left a major impact on the history of both Thessaloniki and Greek culture. The games were established by Thessalonian ruler (and one of the Attalids) Sitalces in 350 BC as a memorial to his brother Attalus, who had died on the Isthmian peninsula three years earlier. At that time, the city of Thessalonica was the capital of the Roman province of Macedon, and Sitalces in collaboration with the Roman authorities established the Games in honour of Athena, in addition to the traditional contests in honour of Dionysos. The games were later removed to Srem, near eastern Macedonia where they still continue today. Sitalces also extended the games to the nearby towns, the city of Perinthus, the towns of Psychai, Maroneia, Aeschaeae and Histria. The games were of 3-day duration and held in the beginning of spring. The games coincided with the Pythagorean festival, other than the winter solstice (the Thracian Games lasted several days longer than the Pythagorean festival).

A stamp in lower case, similar to the ones used in the Olympic Games, in honor of the Thessalian Games, was part of the Athenian tribute coins series between 274 and 260 BC.

Etymology
The name “Thracian” was given to the Greeks during the Ancient Greek colonization of Southern Europe and Asia Minor, with Sitalces and his contemporaries, as a reference to the Thracians.
Archaeologists believe that the name of the games comes from “Thrax”, one of the names for Athena. According to Stith Thompson, “Thrax may be the Attic form of the Thraco-Scythian Thracians (also called Marizes), a designation bestowed first upon the Thraco-Scythians and by extension, by extension, upon the entire Thraco-Pannonian area”

When I run it in my browser I always get “Undefined index: name”.
In the same session, if I try and pass a variable value instead, for example $_GET[‘id’] = ‘a’ it works fine.
What am I doing wrong here?

The $_GET is only available if there is an HTTP request.
If you want to use something like that in an AJAX call, you will have to make the request and get the data from within your callback function, instead of the ajax function.
