Value of SharedPreferences not saved

I’m trying to save a user_id in a SharedPreferences but its always null.
I checked the json file (which I’m storing the data to) and it seems to be created properly (the name of the json file corresponds to the user_id in the code below)
I tried using the app on the phone but I keep getting this error:
